Ride Program Updates - January 2008

A New Year has started and lots of opportunities will be coming our way 2008! Our First Saturday Signature Rides have begun (weather forced us from the 5th) and our first one was hosted in Tualatin. Our February First Saturday Ride will take us to Vancouver Lake.

Calling All Ride Leaders!
Thanks so much for your time in December in helping us get our Code of Conduct up and running. We greatly appreciate your ideas for making our rides even better. We have threads on our forums in the Ride Leader Talkback that are addressing the areas we discussed at our meeting. Please bring your ideas to the forum. This is your chance to impact the operation what we love about our club, the rides!

Could I Be a Ride Leader?
Mr. Matt D’Elia, our Ride Leader Chief is available to answer any questions you might have and to give you ins and outs of being a ride leader. We are looking for folks interested in leading their own rides as well as supporting our Saturday Signature Series Rides.

First Aid/CPR
Mr. Mike Mulligan is putting together a training session for us. All members are encouraged to attend, Ride Leaders especially. This is not your typical first aid class, this one is customized and geared towards scenarios we find ourselves in out on the road.

LiveStrong Challenge 2008
The Livestrong Challenge has been announced for June 28-29th. I will have updates within the next few weeks as to our role with the event and where all of us can help this amazing event. If you are looking to be involved with the Livestrong, a great way to begin is to become a ride leader, or you can help Genny in Events and Fundraising, or you can help Traci in Business Operations. All of these areas are fun ways of learning more about our club and the impact our efforts having one something such as the Livestrong Challenge.

There are other Events (Harvest Century, and others….) we are working on and hope to have updates for this as the season progresses. Thanks so much for the help you have given and for the efforts you will put forward to making our club better and stronger.
