    Friday July 4th Ride?

The race team is doing a ride at 8am starting from Cornelius Pass Roadhouse on Friday. Does anyone want to do a slower paced (~17) ride starting at 9am?

Yes, a ~17 pace sounds good. Last year's 4th of July, Carpenter Creek route, 40mi, might be nice, or we can improvise. I plan to ride and would welcome company. So 9am at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. Traffic can be busy at CPR. LB is closed on the 4th but there's no traffic, so that's an option.

    I'm in.

    Suggestions.

Skyline climb (go to the end) - down Logie Trail then out toward Roy via Banks

    Gales Creek- via Cedar Canyon

Timber- (only if folks are interested in longer route 4hrs +)

I was thinking of a 3 hour ride, max, then lunch.  There may be two groups - one for a longer route with climbing, and one for a shorter, flatter route.

Okay.. I'll look at the Gales creek map- see if we can manage this route.

Suggest we be ready to ride 8:30AM vs 9AM- meet at CRH?

8:30am @CRH can work for me. My knees are still recovering so a ride without steep grades is best for now. I think the Cedar Canyon -Gales Creek route may work for us. Linda, how does that sound?

Understand. I looked at the Gales Creek route- its 54 miles - which begins to push on the 3 hr mark. I'll let you guys decide. I'll join you for a while decide if my legs need more pain mid-way.

Actually something has come up so I've decided to save my energy for Saturday's ride.  So you guys can do whatever ride from CPR or see who is meeting up at Longbottom's for the usual Friday 9am ride. See you Saturday!

Linda, sorry you can't ride tomorrow. Dean, a 20-30mile fairly flat, easy pace on the 4th would be good considering the Sat Rose Garden route appears to have hills galore. 8:30am @CPR. Maybe we should spin by LB in case anyone missed the posts.

Are you looking for a more intense ride on Fri?

Dean, on 2nd thought I may need to paint. If you are riding from CPR anyway, I'll join you for a few miles.

    Re: Friday July 4th Ride?

    Hey Dan.

Well after this afternoon- not sure what kind of ride my body will accept. My typical 40 mile route out to Gaston and back - up and over Blooming Fern Hill seemed a bit harder than normal. Could be that I'm tired or the body is hitting a wall.

I just need to get in miles/ hills for endurance. Tell you what.. if you can and want to join me out to Cedar Canyon- I'll likely make a decision at Hwy 8 whether or not I can go out to Gales Creek. Dont have to ride hard - I can always throw in intervals on the hill if I'm up to it. If you're still interested in hooking up- we can meet/ reday to ride @ 8:30 (CRH) cruise by LongBottom just in case- then head out.

I'll plan to meet you at CPR at 8:30 and ride easy and see how I feel knowing that Sat will be hills and I don't want to increase my miles per week too much (I have Sat PM and maybe Sunday rides), although Gales Creek would be tempting otherwise. I better swap my BB tonight as it was probably the thing clanking more and more on the LS ride hills according to the mechanical help on the ride. Hey maybe my pedals will spin better!
