Any interested in West Side ride on Saturday, August 2nd?

I'm conserving $ and gas, so will not be driving out to the Troutdale start for Saturday's ride. Still would be interested in hooking up with some folks to ride the West side, 40 or 50 miles!

If interested, let me know at marc.altman@comcast.net

Any routes are good for me as am not too familiar with the area.

    Thanks!

    Marc

    Marc:

It so happens that the Portland Wheelmen are doing a westside ride on Saturday leaving from Longbottom's at 9 a.m. I and another Velo rider are planning to join them.

I don't think they provide the exact route beforehand, but here's what their web site says:

West Side Monthly First Saturday Ride:

Distance 37 or 46 miles.  Leaves at 9:00 a.m. from Longbottom Coffee, 4894 NW 235th Ave.  From Hwy 26, turn South on NW Shute Rd., East on NW Huffman, then South on 235th (only one mile from Hwy 26).  This Maggies’s Buns or bust ride covers some low-traffic country roads with a longer option along picturesque Cedar Canyon Rd. near Banks.  Optional stop at Maggies’s in Forest Grove for a nice selection of buns and drinks could be the highlight of your day.  Level B/C regroup ride.  Ride leaders Jerry Smith 503-659-5727 and Bruce Buffington, NW Bicycle Safety Council 503-466-2501.

The phone numbers are in case you have questions, I don't think there's any need to call and say you'll be riding.
