I hope you cancelled. My wheels slipped on ice at Evergreen School. Just some bruises. It was good riding til that. See you next week!

Yes, ride definately canceled today.  Unfortunately conditions didn't start getting bad until about 9:00 when the light rain started (at 8:30 it was still completely dry).  At that point I was already at Longbottom so I wasn't able to post anything regarding the cancelation.

I was on the fence about today's ride and finally decided at about 9:00 not to do it. I then decided to go for a walk before the weather got worse (I live in NE Portland), and almost immediately a glaze of ice started forming on the sidewalks. At that point, I was really glad I was not on a bike. Eventually, I got off the sidewalk and started walking in the road because the footing was much more sure on the asphalt as opposed to the concrete walks, so maybe riding (at least in my area) wouldn't have been too bad. BTW, I help lead the Sunday ride, and if the current forecast plays out that ride won't be happening either. I'm really starting to regret selling my old trainer last summer :(

Yes, it was dry at 8:30 and I had overlooked the deteriating weather plus the cold pavement. A rookie rider error and a valuable lesson! Advil and ice (in a bag!) are very helpful. I hope that's the end of the slippery stuff!
