Bridge Pedal 2008: Another PV Success!

     Hey Gang-

Congratulations for your time this morning and for contributing to the success of the 2008 Bridge Pedal.

In typical PV Fashion, the northeastern part of the course was in stable and supportive hands.  From St. Johns through Swan Island, you did a phenomenal job.

It hit home for me what we were doing when I met up with Jimmy at the last stop down on Swan Island.  From there, we were able to look back at the course and see all of the riders heading our way.  It was at that piont I thought, wow that's ALL US!

Thank you team, this could not have happend without the amazing ladies and gentlemen of our club.

Also, I wanted to thank the Starbucks in St. Johns for their support.  They donated the 5 gallons of coffee (milk, soy milk, and half and half) for us.  Every drop of it consumed!  ;)

Thank you so much to everyone that came out and volunteered.  I know it was a lot to give up a nice Sunday to direct traffic, but it really does make a tremendous difference to the safety of the cyclists.  It was very cool to ride the stretch from St John’s to Swan Island and see about twenty people I know.  There were about 40 more helping with various other posts that I was not able to say thank you to directly.

Note: The ride was a lot of fun, very crowded at times, but with caution and patience, it was very enjoyable.  The person I rode with forgot their bike shoes and rode on sandals with SPDs all day.  I am curious how their feet will feel tomorrow.
