9/20/14: The route this week is AIR SHOW SPECIAL (49.9 miles, 1,363 feet) This route is a big counter-clockwise loop out of LaCie to keep us away from the Air Show traffic this weekend – especially Evergreen.  It heads north on Helvetia and then through N Plains to Dersham and across OR 26.  Then it's Harrington to Greenville and into Forest Grove via Kansas City and Thatcher.  Then we follow Ritchey to Stringtown and the golf course via Fern Hill and Geiger.  Lastly we reverse last week's route out and head home via Burkhalter, Rood Bridge and past Century High.  If you’re lucky you might just get a peak at an air show event above (starting 11:30 am) while heading back in to LaCie.  The weather looks to be clear & sunny during the ride with temps in the low 60's to mid 70's – enjoy the continued great fall weather.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
