10/25/14 - The route this week is Saving Daylight

 (39.8 miles and 1183 feet).

Saving Daylight (an ironic choice as we're losing 3 minutes of light daily) is a wide loop out to Forest Grove with some nice rollers thrown in between Iowa Hill and Blooming Fern.  While it should go without saying, we're in fender season and riders should bring bikes with full coverage fenders with buddy flaps.  If the rider behind you can see your rear tire, your buddy flap is too short.

The onset of rainy weather means roads with lots of debris. Take a couple minutes before coming out to look over your tires for any embedded debris - you may save yourself an unpleasant roadside stop.  Weather projections show ride time temps around 50 and wet for the entire ride.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
