4/25/15 - 9:00 am: CLAPSHAW - HILLSIDE (42.4 miles  1,045 feet of climbing):  The ride starts with 18 miles of relative flat, followed by 10 miles of hills and rollers to work, and ends with 14 miles of relative flat - a nice balanced spring workout.  It heads west via Evergreen and then out Sewell - Meek - Jackson School through N. Plains.  We'll head back across OR 26 on Dersham to Harrington.  Then we'll follow Greenville to Clapshaw Hill followed by a nice descent and some challenging rollers on Hillside.  Then it's Thatcher to Forest Grove and heading back via Corneilus and then Long, Susbauer and Hornecker.  Be careful on the Hornecker Sprint - if it's wet Saturday.  The weather forecast during the ride is calling for scattered light rain and ride temperatures in the mid-40's to mid-50's.  Keep checking though as it's still quite variable - and we can hope for better.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
