2/28/15 - 10:00 am: WINTER LITE 1 (36.8 miles  623 feet of climbing):  It's a good name to end February with - as we've truly had a "winter lite" so far this calendar year.  This ride - the last of the 10am starts - ends February with a new short route looping through Cornelius, Forest Grove and North Plains.  It includes Evers Rd (linking Osterman and Greenville), which was paved last summer.   We'll head west on Evergreen to Hornecker and Wren.  Then we'll follow Cornelius Schefflin through Cornelius - taking Lafollett and Geiger to Fern Hill.  Then we'll follow OR 47 through Forest Grove and then head north on Porter to Verboort.  Then we follow Visitation and Evers up to Greenville.  We'll take Harrington (rest stop @ church) and then cross over OR 26 and through N Plains to Jackson School Rd.  After this it's back across OR 26 and home via Meek - Sewell - Evergreen.  Depending upon which weather forecast we choose to believe the weather could vary from rain to sun for the weekend - let's again shoot for sun - but keep the fenders or rain bike handy.  Temps should be like last week - high 40's to low 50's.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
