We Shift back to 9:00 am Starts This Week!!!

3/7/15 - 9:00 am: CEDAR CANYON REVERSE (41.5 miles  936 feet of climbing):  This week takes us west out to Cedar Canyon, Banks and then back via North Plains.  We start by heading out Evergreen - Hornecker - Wren again to Cornelius Scheflin.  Then it's into Verboort where we take Visitation to Osterman-Kemper.  We head up over Strohmeyer and descend Stafford to OR 6.  From there we follow the rolling climbs of Cedar Canyon to Banks.  This route follows Banks Rd to Aerts and then across OR 6 - be careful of fast-moving traffic when crossing.  Then it's the revised routing along Wilkesboro-Mountaindale and Roy - to Harrington (rest stop).  We then cross Or 26 , head through North Plains and cross OR 26 on Jackson School and head home via Meek. The weather forecast looks like it will replicate this past Saturday - sunny and warm. And look, wind is predicted at 3 mph - YES!  Temps should be in the hi-40's to mid-50's.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
