8/16/14: The route this week is The Old CorCreek (47.7 miles, 3,189 feet)The route heads north across OR 26, out Phillips and then climbs Rock Creek Rd to Skyline. After following Skyline a bit it's down Johnson and Logie Trail before heading back up again via Jackson Quarry, Mason Hill and Solberger.  Then it's down Dorland to Shadybrook and through N Plains and Roy for a flat 20 miles heading home.  This section takes us back across OR 26 - at street level.  Be cautious and use the middle island as you'll be crossing fast-moving traffic on OR 26.  This is a diverse and hilly route we've not run for a couple years - enjoy the views, the work and the wind in your face on descents!  The weather looks to be mostly clear during the ride with temps in the low 60's to mid 70's - perfect cycling weather.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 600 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
