7/19/14: The route this week is Southern Metric - full & short versions (62 & 42 miles in length).  They gain 1,844 and 913 feet respectively.  This is the  first of three metric century routes we plan to run during July, August and September this season. Each will offer full and shortened versions.  This weeks route runs west through Verboort and then south through Forest Grove to Gaston.  When Gaston Road intersects with Spring Hill the routes diverge - the full loop heading south to ride the Woodland Loop and the shortened version heading north up Spring Hill, Fern Hill and home via Cornelius.  The full route then takes the same path home after heading back to the Gaston/Spring Hill intersection.  We hope you enjoy this metric experiment - which allows us to get into some turf not otherwise available given the length of normal Saturday rides.

This Saturday looks to be cloudy with ride time temperatures into the 70s.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 600 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
