12/20/14 - 10:00 am:   The route this week is CEDAR CANYON REVERSE (40.3 miles, 942 feet of elevation gain).  The route heads west on Evergreen - Hornecker - Wren into Verboort. In Verboort we head out Visitation to Osterman-Kemper and then up Kansas City.  Next we do a bit of climbing on Strohmayer with a nice descent down Stafford - careful as we bottom out onto OR 6. After a short ride on OR 6 we take Cedar Canyon into Banks.  Cross OR 47 onto Banks Rd and then we head right on Aerts.  Use caution crossing OR 6.  Then we head onto Wilkesboro - NOTE:  rather than go straight over the new tracks we've permanently re-routed Left onto Wilkesboro-Mountaindale for safety concerns. The route then uses Roy to loop back onto Harrington.  From here it's out Dersham , over OR 26 and through North Plains.  Then it's the normal Jackson School - Meek - Sewell back to LaCie. The forecast for this Saturday is rain with ride temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40's.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
