1/31/15 - 10:00 am:   The route this week is SAVING DAYLIGHT (39.8 miles, 900 feet of elevation gain).  The route is a clockwise loop out through Forest Grove and back.  We head out 229/231 Ave's and then past Century High.  We take Davis to River Rd, followed by Rood Bridge and Burkhalter to the Golf Course (restrooms).  Then it's a short climbing loop on Iowa Hill, Nursery, Hergert, and Blooming Fern Hill Rd back to Golf Course Rd.  No worries - we're not climbing Blooming Fern Hill today!  Then it's through Forest Grove and heading home via Oak and Martin to Verboort.  The last stretch is the routine Wren - Hornecker - Evergreen run, which by now our bikes should be able to take us home on (if they had horse sense).  The forecast for this Saturday looks to be partly cloudy with ride temperatures in the mid-40'S to low-50's - but, let's hope for sun again.

Portland Velo was founded in February 2006 by a bunch of folks (35 of us, actually) who simply enjoyed riding bikes together. Since then we've grown to over 400 members. Our philosophy is "It's All About The Ride" - join us for a ride and find out why we continue to be Oregon's premier cycling club.
